Project Overview
Oracle Architects were commissioned to secure planning permission for a new Sikh temple in Kettering, delivering a landmark religious and community facility with a strong civic presence.
The proposed two-storey building reinterprets traditional Sikh architectural elements in a contemporary form. As illustrated in the CGI, the design features a symmetrical red brick façade, a double-height glazed entrance, and a prominent central arch incorporating the Khanda emblem, creating a powerful and welcoming identity. Gold-toned domed finials and a flag mast reference cultural heritage, while lighter stone detailing enhances contrast and visual refinement.
Large, evenly distributed windows provide ample natural daylight, supporting a calm and uplifting internal environment. The scheme also includes landscaped frontage, improved accessibility, and on-site parking, enhancing both user experience and site integration.
With an expected construction value of £2.8–£3.5 million, the project demonstrates Oracle Architects’ expertise in delivering culturally sensitive, high-quality designs that balance tradition, modernity, and community impact.
